Sony Reader

The Reader is Sony's take on the LIBRIe for the Western market, with a few twists:

Good Points:

  • 160dpi screen

Bad Points:

  • Incredibly asinine DRM'd format
  • No Mac support
  • No wireless connectivity

Resources:

  • PRS-700 internals and disassembly
  • Calibre, an e-book library management application.
  • libprs500, a Python-based library for content conversion (Quentin's notes might come in handy)
  • Gizmodo - shots of the production hardware.
  • Q&A
  • PCMag video review
  • BargainPDA
  • Engadget
  • Gizmodo Hands-on
  • InfoSync
